Thank you for joining Spirit Taekwon-Do Newlands. We look forward to getting you started on your Taekwon-Do journey, all the way to Black Belt and beyond. You will soon begin to receive an email sequence helping you find your way around Taekwon-Do. You can unsubscribe from them at any time.
IMPORTANT NEXT STEPS
1. Email Brett immediately -> Click here <- , and let him know you signed up.
The system is supposed to tell us automatically, but it does not work all the time – so it’s best if you email us.
2. Sign up to our announcement email channel by clicking -> here <-.
You can add multiple emails here (one at a time) if you want messages to go to multiple email addresses.
3. Set up payment.
Information on making payment is -> here <-. Your joining fee includes the first month training, so set the joining fee to come out immediately, and the first regular monthly payment to come out the 25th of NEXT month.
4. Ask for your syllabus book and your club badge
Please remember to ask for your syllabus book and your club badge when you are next at club.
Your club badge goes on your uniform on the left sleeve.
5. Buy a uniform
Not needed immediately, but you will need one before your first grading.
We occasionally hold a few second-hand uniforms in stock which you can ask about if you wish.
Otherwise we have two recommended places for uniforms. One is Wellington-based and is great if you want to visit the store. Both of them also have online ordering options, and deliver quickly.
What you are looking for is an ITFNZ or ITKD uniform. Fuji Mae sells all sorts of uniforms so you need to be specific when ordering from them. Mighty Fist sells only ITF uniforms.
The uniforms will have the ITKD green and blue fist on one side, the ITF logo on the other side, and the ITF tree on the back. You want a plain white uniform – no black trim.
Wellington: Fuji Mae, 52a Cleveland St, Brooklyn. https://fujimae.co.nz
Auckland: Mighty Fist, https://mightyfist.co.nz
That’s it for now. See you at club!
Any questions that you have, please let us know.
