Ruby started Taekwon-Do in 2014 with her father when she was six years old. She graded to black belt at age 13 to 1st Dan (in 2021) and achieved her currant rank of 2nd dan in 2024.
In 2023 she trialled and was selected to represent New Zealand competing in patterns as a pre junior at the World Championships in Finland. She again trialled in 2025 for the New Zealand team and was selected to compete as a junior in patterns at the Croatia World Championships.
Ruby has been assisting at the Wednesday Kelburn class since 2020, and has been helping out at other classes as well. She enjoys instructing the kids as it’s exciting helping students improve their skills while passing on her knowledge.
